Service is great Car was fantastic. As I read other complaints on here I think it's inexperienced people renting cars. They took my credit card charged cost + 15% hold like they always do and I was on my way in a nice Nissan Altima. Did an after-hours return on my way home and had no problems receipt was emailed.
This is by far the worst place to rent cars from. The staff was terrible. I rented a compact car and something was wrong with the car accelerating,so I took the car back to get another. The staff told me thats how Ford cars drive, thats a lie. So they offered me a smaller car,and I said forget cancell my reservation. They weren't friendly,and didnt even apologize for giving me a lemon. I went to Enterprise and they had exceptional customer service. Never,ever again will I rent from Dollar rental. They need to hire compassionate and competent employees.
The only reason Dollar gets one star is that you cannot put zero stars. Like the other review Dollar staff at GSB PTI informed me of their policy changes which do not honor debit cards without proof of flight and informed me this is on the website. THERE IS NO SUCH POLICY ON THE WEBSITE. IN FACT IT SAYS JUST THE OPPOSITE!!! The staff merely pointed to the sign on the counter. This is despite the fact that I paid the vast majority of the rental price with a debit card on their website. They could not cancel the car you have to call. I called the customer service on a Sunday and it tells you that they are only open M-F from 8:00 till 5:00PM. This is apparently 1977 in customer service. The staff at PTI is of course as you would expect uncaring and ignorant of their own company policies.
Apparently they have some new bull crap policy THAT IS NOT ON THE WEBSITE! YOU WONT FIND OUT UNTIL AFTER YOU GET THERE! If you aren't taking a flight from the airport you CAN'T rent a car without a CREDIT CARD! And if you have a credit card you have to pay for how much the rental is PLUS and extra $500 hold. For what? Dollar hardly has cars to charge that much. I've been coming to this location for 2 years now AND NVER HAD A PROBLEM. I HAD a trip planned for my birthday and now it is completely ruined because of this bull crap. I hope all of us loyal customers leave Dollar AND NEVER RETURN!
I posted a couple weeks ago and just told the truth. Thought about it and didnt want anybody to get wrote up or fired so I deleted it a couple days later. But I guess the damage was already done because when i returned the car a couple days later I received a $175 dollar cleaning/smoking fee and I did not smoke in the car. I been a dollar member for almost 5 years and never had a cleaning/smoking fee until I wrote a review. It just sucks that it took almost 2 hours to receive my car, impeded the plans I had previously planned and on top of that charge me a fee for telling the truth. I talked to Deborah a customer service agent who was supposed to talk to me prior to the investigation but somehow declined my refund before even hearing the facts or even talking to me. When i finally got her on the phone after repeat calls all she kept saying was you not getting a refund repeatedly and we talked to the location. The location were the workers who were negligent and took their time, so obviously they would say he smoked in the car because he wrote a bad review on me. The checks and balance for this situation isnt right and Dollar is to blame. I don't know what type of establishment Dollar is but I won't be returning I have free days with them but I rather spend my money else where! The Dollar rental car at pti is a 2 star location with bad customer service and book appointments on days they're closed!!!!!
