My brother worked at Alamo while in college 20 years ago because they were flexible and uplifting on education so I was impressed the young man that took care of my drop-off was a college student.
I always get a pretty good deal at Alamo. I do a lot of one way rentals; other companies rates are through the roof & into outer space on one way rentals. However my last rentals had a droppressively off time after they had closed. I didn't see any night drop so I brought the vehicle back 5 - 5:30 am. It cost me nearly double. I called customer service and they offers no help. I Feel like I should have been informed that office would be closed and to drop off the vehicle @ the pick up. If I had known I would be charged for 2 days I would've kept it until 11pm. Messed my whole day up.
If they had minus stars It would be double minus. First of all our son paid for round trip ticket and a rental car from Alamo thru Allegiant Air, for emergency surgery trip home for my husband. We are in another state visiting for the holidays and no way we could drive 13 hrs in icy conditions to doctor. When husband got to Alamo counter they refused to honor the voucher. Then they would not take our debit/Visa card as it was not the same card that was used to pay for the trip. After I called Alamo's corporate office and spoke with a nicer person there, he said they would take the debit/Visa for a new walk-in rental and we would have to cancel the reserved one. We did. and THEN Alamo had the audacity to say our credit union would not allow car rentals (AN OUTRIGHT LIE as I called our credit union and they said yes they DO!!!) Credit union ask us to have Alamo call them. They wouldn't. I would NEVER recommend Alamo for ANYTHING! Avoid them like the plague!

Hands down the most enjoyable rental car experience of my life. Pickup was smooth and professional, but it was the return that really impressed us. The attendant met us at the car and had us smiling and laughing through the very fast and simple signoff. What a great way to start off a long day of flying. Thanks, and I'm sorry I don't remember the guy's name, but I hope you give that "big dog" a raise and keep him on your team. Just awesome.
