The lady behind the counter at the Gate City location, Bre, was very nice, polite. She knew what she was doing as far as the rental process. Otherwise this rating would be a 1. I was able to rent a black Chevy Cruze for a trip to Florida. I had a $50 off certificate I was awarded through my credit card company is the main reason for renting through Avis. Upon getting in the vehicle I could smell the smell of cigarettes. This is supposed to be a non smoking vehicle. So when I got home I had to spray almost a half bottle of Frebreeze and other spray and leave all windows down until we left that night. Even with all that done you can still smell it. Also it seems as if the rental was just turned in and rented back out to me without a cleaning. The vehicle was FILTHY! Food in the back seat, wrappers, and back window smeared with hand prints from more than likely a child sitting there. The only way I would use Avis again is try the Friendly center location in Greensboro. So not happy. Hopefully I can get some money taken off. Well see in 2 days.
Terrible. No one at the office at 1pm in the afternoon. Hours say 8am-6pm on Monday, but no one is here! Small sign on the door saying they'll be back by 1:20pm... no one is here, and I've been sitting here waiting. Highly discourage you from doing business with this Avis location. They are an embarrassment to the Avis name.
