I was hoping for better service than you get at the big box hardware stores. Instead, what I got was a botched re-screening job. When I called to complain, all I got was defensiveness and obvious lies. Moreover, they refused to fix the problem. Lesson learned; I will never go back there again.
They wanted to charge me to reconnect spark plug wire to spark plug boot on my Stihl Blower (not an easy thing for the average Joe to do). The blower was less than 7 months old. I called Stihl and they set me up with McKnight Ace Hardware on Bessemer who took care of me at no charge. I won't go back to this place. I did not find the people at 5105 W Market them to be very accommodating or friendly.
Stopped by for something really small, and was treated like family or a person purchasing a much larger item. The staff knew what they were talking about and were able to direct me appropriately. More hardware stores should take notes from their service.
Integrity in sales still exists. Today I received the best and most honest customer experience ever. I've been to a few Ace vendors. There are good and some really not so good. This location is great. They steered me away from what I didn't need and directed me to exactly what I did need. There wasn't an upsale but a lateral financial move. Most places want to direct you to the item that is only "a little more bang for your buck." Thankfully that was not the case today. I'm am glad I made the trip, passing by many other big box options. #localisbetter
Hands down, the best hardware store to shop at. Guys are friendly and very knowledgeable. Leagues ahead of Lowes and home depot.
