Their food is always excellent, and the service is typically good. I am enjoying myself on the patio. It's a georgous day. I recommend a pint of Wildflower for starters or a Jameson & Ginger Ale. I was told they do not serve Long Islands because "people can get out of hand." This is not the place to get hammered; it is a great place to chill and try a new beer.
This is from the point of view of someone going with their family to eat lunch or dinner. If you went at night for more if the bar atmosphere I'm sure it's different. Typical brewpub food. Not bad but not great and maybe a little overpriced. Sandwiches and burgers mostly with some pretty good appetizers. Two great things - 1. They have surprisingly good kids meals if you have little ones. I think it's one of the best kids meals around, they come with entree, chips or fries, strawberries and carrots. And 2- they have a "daily draw" beer on tap everyday that's $2.50 a pint. One of the only downtown patios around, so that's nice.
Natty Greene's can sometimes be hit or miss with regard to service. When it's good, it's amazing! When it's not...well.... The atmosphere is warm, sometimes loud, but that adds to the environment if you like that. It feels friendly. Don't go if you're in a hurry or want some quiet intimacy. If you're in for a big time with friends, do it!
I met a friend here for dinner at 6:30 on a Thursday and there was no wait. Good food, good service, good beer. I like sitting upstairs near the windows so I can watch the hustle n bustle of downtown. Parking can be a pain sometimes, but I accept the fact I may have to walk a block to get there. It's worth it.
Was nice for a weekday lunch! Took our server's advice and got a French toast special which I can't recommend. Good table service though and nice draft selection
