Swift move in process pertaining to paperwork. On the day of the move I was given the wrong keys and put on hold for 7 minutes when trying to contact the office. I was told I needed to retrieve the correct keys and I asked them to come to me. I booked movers by the hour and had to wait on a person to drive 28 mins to get into my house. The front office staff started to get ugly when i asked to be compensated for the extended time my movers had to wait. I was told “so they was gonna move your stuff in 30 minutes?” “You need the keys right, ok”
They would never answer the phone when you called. They never wanted to spend money to fix anything and would take forever to do so if they did.The move out process was a nightmare because they constantly would have showings of the house while I was still living there and would only notify me the night before through email. On top of that, I was charged for carpet replacement after having paid over $200 for a professional carpet cleaning, which made the carpets look better than when I moved in! I even turned in the receipt for the carpet cleaning when I turned in the keys!
I rented through birch b/c of the price of the place and the space was great. The application process was swift. My main complaint is there was always a "need for entry". Also the oven in the location was dated, which would have been fine due to the price of the unit if it worked completely. The oven partially worked and birch tried on several occasions to salvage it which eventually lead to just replacing the oven around May and I moved in August the previous year. Other than that, no major complaints. I moved due to the area of the place not being safe for me b/c of break-ins. I also am not a fan of the move out policy. I feel they should allow the tenant to enjoy their unit and prepare to move instead of immediately trying to find another tenant. This was very inconvenient especially when you want the place to be presentable but you're in the "moving but still living in the place" phase. I can say, whenever I contacted the company either via email or phone, I was attended to promptly.
I've been dealing with the staff at Birch for about 3 months now and i must say the service is fantastic. They were quick to respond to any problems i had, they actually anticipated my concerns and reassured me. Also Mrs. Tracy is great, she will call me randomly just to check up on us and make sure everything is going smooth. This was my first house rental experience that went this smoothly I would definitely recommend them.
Online payment system would not accept my card. They told me to bring a check. I did, and they charged me twice, plus a late fee, despite check being on time. Voicemail maze makes reaching a person extremely difficult. Maintenance appointment cancelled last minute without calling me, and I had taken day off of work to accommodate plumber.
