Delancy Street is a non-profit organization. I contacted them on a recommendation from our realtor. From my first phone call, they were fantastic! Two gentlemen came to my apartment to assess what I would need moved. They both wore ties and were extremely professional. While at my apartment, they were able to assess the landscape of where they would park the moving truck, how many steps they would need to climb, and of course, the stuff to be moved. It is difficult to explain all of this over the phone or in a few words online. The answered all of my questions and when they left, I had a written estimate in my hand. On my moving day, the crew arrived at the exact time they stated they would and immediately got to work. Furniture was wrapped, fragile items were handled with care, and the multitude of book boxes quickly went onto the truck. When they arrived at my new home, they got instructions on where to place items before the unloading began. They communicated well with each other and the job was completed in less time than my estimate, which meant my invoice was less than my quoted price. Before they left, they made sure I was happy with the placement of all of the furniture, appliances, and bookshelves. This is a great organization and a wonderful group of movers. The next time I move, I will use them, no doubt about it. I was very happy with my experience and I like the idea that I am helping some folks out. Until I need their moving services again, I will purchase my Christmas tree from their lot each December.
This is the second time we've used Delancey Street movers for a move within Greensboro. The packing and moving crews were timely, professional, thorough and pleasant. Their work ethic is unmatched. In addition, their commitment and attention to detail is impressive. And they were nice to work with as well. And, yes, their total cost was quite reasonable. My wife and I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in their moving services.
Delancey street is a moving school. They hold their movers to a higher standard then anyone else. Highly recommend. They fix their mistakes, unlike other moving company's give you .60 cents per pound. They have a furniture repair shop on site that is Mohawk certified. All profits go to running the nonprofit foundation. No one takes a salary. They work hard and don't take breaks. Buy them lunch and they will take care of your stuff and save you money.
I got way more than I anticipated when I hired them for a small moving job back in August 2017. They were so professional and friendly! After moving my bedroom furniture, they even took the time to educate me on how their business works & I was also given information & resources that were very helpful to a family member in another state. Delancey Street Movers will always be my first choice for any future moving jobs, and I would suggest they become yours.

From the first phone call to set up an estimate, right up until the last item is removed from the moving truck, I never had a single problem or issue with Delancey. They are professional, timely, polite and very attentive to the needs of the customer. The movers go the extra mile to assure everything is just as the customer wants.
