Great family experience. My 7 year old loved it. Im glad to see him excited about history

Great park. While I'm all about the history, there are many, many people who come here to walk or run. Keep in mind though, you are not allowed to play games within the battlefield out of respect for those who fought and died on this battlefield. There are monuments all over the park which are really interesting to check out.

This national park has it all. Convenient location, great trails, and a great history of the battle of Guilford Courthouse for the American Revolutionary War. Nathanael Greene was in charge of the American forces and he is the namesake for Greensboro, NC. He fought against General Cornwallis. Come learn of the history here where it is said that the armies of General Greene were first called Tar Heels because they stuck their heels in the dirt and would not move Cornwallis said they fight like they have tar on their heels. Hence, the Tarheel state.

Great place to visit with family and learn about the history that took place in this area. Get a chance to get some incite along with the experience what took place in this particular area. Have a great half hour movie.

Wonderful piece of U.S. History. The rangers all had wonderful passion and shared it with my son and I. I recommend the whole walk. Stop by the Welcome Center and watch the National Parks video. Puts it into great context. The hike is well worth it. My 5 year old has sparked an interest in history and this really brought it to life for him. For me it exemplifies the sacrifice these men made for our new nation. The battle of New Garden was hand to hand, house to house. Led by "Lighthorse" Henry Lee. It was this battle that sent Cornwalis packing toward Yorktown!
