Beth David provides the pretty traditional model of Kabbalat Shabbat (Friday night services), Saturday morning services, daily minyans and holiday services. But, they also offer a wide variety of classes and activities for people of every age and Jewish knowledge level. Beth David is an amazing synagogue! Everyone there is so welcoming. If you're attending a service or program for the first time and you're worried because you're shy, don't know anyone, or have never attended a service and don't know what to do, don't worry, the people there will make you feel right at home!
Congregation is outgoing. They recognize new people and go out of their way to introduce themselves to you.
When we moved to Greensboro we looked at all the options in the metropolitan area. We then joined Beth David because of the warmth and obvious desire of the membership to welcome us into their lives. The feeling of being a part of the congregation was immediate and greatly appreciated. Time has only proved us to be correct in our initial observation.
I grew up with Temple Emanuel in town, but switched over to Beth David about 5 years ago. Both my wife, who is not Jewish, but enjoys the traditions, and my daughter (now 15) felt so much more comfortable at Beth David. I'm not knocking the Temple, just showing how well we were received at Beth David.
