I attended Disney On Ice recently and I was super impressed with the show. The floors were sticky (I guess it is expected) and food was very expensive (sixteen dollars for a Disney princess cup). Comfortable seating but the rows are super close together and people have to walk all over one another to exit. It is pretty good though!
This is one of the better city venues I have been to in a long time. Greensboro does a very good job of taking care of their facilities. There are several locations within the Coliseum that can house multiple events at a time. Coliseum staff are very professional. The ushers and regular staff they hire are very good at their jobs. They also have their own security on site at all times. For large events they also have Greensboro police, Guilford County EMS, and Greensboro Fire personnel on site.
My brother and I took my two kids to see the Foo Fighters and we were on the railing for the entire show. The crew was nice and talked to us during break and intervals. They realized that the kids were getting tired (FF played for about 3.5 hours) and brought them a bottle of water. Also, they got picks and set lists from the band and gave them to them. They really helped make the night that much more memorable for my kids. The only downside was the lengthy amount of time to get out of the parking lot, but with the location, I believe they did a pretty good job.
Loved Disney on Ice, not the person kicking the chair behind my child. We felt it all the way through all of our seats. Overall experience great, people not so much. Would definitely go again.
They have vendors on site as well as visiting vendors. They have their own food stations where you can purchase regular Arena type food. They also have some full-time vendors there such as Bojangles and Moe's Grill. During events like Disney on Ice they will also have third-party vendors selling merchandise.
I rate this 3 stars, not because Trans-Siberian, but the coliseum itself. It took us 45 minutes to be able to make it to parking. Once inside the building there was a massive amount of people (couple hundred, at least)in the lobby, just waiting and not really moving. It was almost like the doors hadn't been opened, but as close as it was to showtime that couldn't be right. Then, I couldn't get my mobile tickets to load (not their fault), I went to will call to get a physical ticket. The woman wanted the card of purchase, which I gave to her...she apparently found me, but without saying a word walked away and brought over another person. They began looking at their screen and whispering comments, it was almost like they thought it was fraudulent transaction. Despite that fact that I could show my receipt email. So... after being stuck in a mass of unmoving concert goes, I then had to go through a whole ordeal to get tangible tickets. Then there's security to go through...by the name we made it to our seats we'd missed 15-30 minutes if the concert.
